99 Susan Aschoff - St Petersburg Times - A Summary
Another former link now broken . . . http://www.sptimes.com/2003/02/25/Floridian/Estrogen_isn_t_enough
It gives a brief overview of the whole point of this web site
He recommends first testing hormone levels in the saliva, a more accurate measure than routinely used blood tests. Women should take natural, or plant-based, hormones which duplicate those produced in the body, he says: Prempro is derived from the urine of pregnant mares. In his book Lee includes a list of progesterone creams, which are absorbed through the skin in greater concentrations than a pill that must pass through the digestive tract. He says he receives no payments from manufacturers of the creams and he independently tests potency.
"Progesterone is not the panacea for every health problem you have," he cautions. A woman needs to eat well and avoid refined carbohydrates and sugars, control stress through exercise, meditation and rest, and stay away from radiation and other toxins.
But there is a revolution under way, he promises, and women can win.
"There is no better teacher for the doctors, who didn't learn about any of this in med school," he writes, "than an intelligent, assertive woman."
